Orientation Morning - 15 August 2025
In the international stream, students aged 11 to 15 continue their learning journey through the IB Middle Years Programme (MYP). Building on the foundations developed in the PYP School, students think critically, make connections across subjects and explore real-world issues through global contexts. With a strong emphasis on enquiry, interdisciplinary learning and international-mindedness, they develop the skills and mindset needed for academic success and lifelong learning.
With the IB Middle Years Programme, students take ownership of their learning, set personal goals and reflect regularly on their growth, academically, socially and emotionally.
Students learn how to learn through the Approaches to Learning skills framework, grounded in explicit instruction and practice, developing key competencies including communication, collaboration, research, self-management and critical thinking.
Learning in the MYP School is framed through global contexts that connect classroom concepts to real-world issues. These contexts help students explore diverse perspectives, understand the world around them and develop as internationally minded individuals.
The MYP encourages students to make meaningful connections across subjects. By exploring concepts through multiple disciplines, students develop deeper understanding, creativity, and the ability to solve complex, real-world problems.
Students explore real-life questions and develop cognitive understanding through maths, science and languages. This approach nurtures learners with curiosity and the ability to apply learning in relevant ways confidently.
At our international school in Vietnam, students develop proficiency in multiple languages, including English, Vietnamese and Korean, supporting academic growth while becoming confident communicators with empathy, inclusivity and a global outlook.
Learners discover and nurture their talents in a fun way choosing from 50+ exciting extra-curricular activities, including sports, dance, arts and Vietnamese cultural workshops.
Learners benefit from personalised guidance from a dedicated school counsellor, Career Festivals, meeting with international universities and workplace placements with our Future Pathways Programme.
Learners grow, explore and progress in the Secondary Campus, a world-class building with specialised activity spaces, including creative and musical studios, science and tech labs, STEAM rooms and sports pavilions.
Students confidently lead a variety of roles and initiatives. They take on responsibilities as House Captains, represent the school in official sports teams, contribute to our newsletter The Link and participate in Model United Nations.
Students can start their journey any time of the year. Our Admissions team stands ready to assists families comfortably through the application process.

Developing critical thinking
Students develop logical reasoning, problem-solving and critical thinking skills to apply across disciplines and in real-life situations. The programme balances conceptual understanding with practical application, encouraging students to explore patterns, relationships and mathematical models. Lessons often include investigations, collaborative tasks, and real-world scenarios to make learning meaningful and engaging. Students are challenged to think creatively and reflect on their strategies as they grow in confidence and independence.
Exploring through experimentation
Students explore the world through enquiry, experimentation and evidence-based thinking. In Grades 6 to 8, students study integrated science, engaging with key concepts across scientific disciplines through hands-on activities and regular lab investigations. Practical work and lab visits are central to the programme, helping students develop scientific skills, curiosity and confidence. From Grade 9, students transition into specialised courses in Biology, Chemistry, and Physics to deepen their understanding and prepare for further scientific study.
Understanding cultures and traditions
Students understand the world around them through subjects such as History, Geography, Economics and Civics. They investigate real-world issues and human behaviour by asking critical questions, analysing sources and making connections across time and place. The course fosters enquiry, global awareness and ethical thinking, helping students understand their role in local and global communities. Through engaging, concept-driven units, students develop the skills to reason, argue effectively and act responsibly.
Freeing the inner self
Students nurture creativity, self-expression and critical thinking through engaging experiences in both Visual Arts and Music. They explore artistic techniques, styles and cultural influences while developing their own creative voice. The programme encourages experimentation, collaboration and appreciation of the arts as a powerful form of communication.

Using the design cycle, students investigate needs, develop ideas, create solutions and evaluate their effectiveness. They work on hands-on projects that may involve digital tools, product design or systems thinking.
