Bilingual Middle Years Programme

Secondary students, aged 11 to 14 grow in the bilingual stream that blends the Vietnamese MOET Replacement curriculum with the US curriculum. Students are encouraged to engage in critical thinking, link ideas across different subjects, both English and Vietnamese. With this programme, students prepare to enter both international and local high schools.
 
At the end of Grade 9, students can transfer to the IB Middle Years Programme stream and undertake a specially devised preparation year for the IB Diploma Programme.

Our curriculum

Students in the Bilingual Middle Years Programme blend academic excellence with real-world experience. The combination of Vietnamese and English subjects helps students develop a deep appreciation for their cultural roots while gaining access to global perspectives and communication skills. The enquiry based and interdisciplinary teaching approach supports this by encouraging critical thinking, curiosity and independent exploration.

In our international bilingual school, students are placed in either English Language Arts or English Language Learning classes based on their level of English proficiency.  
 
The goal is to immerse students in the study of language and literature from a variety of communities and cultures. Through exploring a wide range of literary and non-literary texts, students analyse different writing styles and techniques, considering how context, audience, purpose and language choices shape meaning.  
 
This approach helps students develop a deeper understanding of language as both a craft and a cultural expression, fostering awareness of the diverse ways people live, communicate and interpret the world.
