Orientation Morning - 15 August 2025
Secondary students, aged 11 to 14 grow in the bilingual stream that blends the Vietnamese MOET Replacement curriculum with the US curriculum. Students are encouraged to engage in critical thinking, link ideas across different subjects, both English and Vietnamese. With this programme, students prepare to enter both international and local high schools. At the end of Grade 9,âŻstudents can transfer to the IB Middle Years Programme stream and undertake a specially devised preparation year for the IB Diploma Programme.
Students progress with a combination of Vietnamese MOET curriculum and US core curricula, building skills, knowledge and understanding locally and globally. The programme nurtures curiosity, promotes global awareness and supports personal development.

Students in the Bilingual Middle Years Programme blend academic excellence with real-world experience. The combination of Vietnamese and English subjects helps students develop a deep appreciation for their cultural roots while gaining access to global perspectives and communication skills. Growing in a world language
In our international bilingual school, students are placed in either English Language Arts or English Language Learning classes based on their level of English proficiency. Â Â The goal is to immerse students in the study of language and literature from a variety of communities and cultures. Through exploring a wide range of literary and non-literary texts, students analyse different writing styles and techniques, considering how context, audience, purpose and language choices shape meaning. Â Â This approach helps students develop a deeper understanding of language as both a craft and a cultural expression, fostering awareness of the diverse ways people live, communicate and interpret the world.
Exploring through experimentation
Students understand key scientific concepts and develop the ability to apply this knowledge to real-world situations. They foster critical thinking and enquiry through hands-on investigations and problem-solving. Learners communicate scientific ideas clearly using appropriate language and tools, while also exploring the impact of science on society, technology and the environment. Additionally, the program promotes collaboration, responsibility and ethical decision-making in scientific contexts.
Enhancing logical reasoning
Students develop a deep understanding of mathematical concepts, fluency in procedures and the ability to apply math in real-world contexts. It emphasizes problem-solving, reasoning and communicating mathematically. Learners build strong foundational skills, logical thinking, perseverance in tackling complex problems. To ensure consistency and coherence across the learning experience, both English Math (based on Common Core standards) and Vietnamese Math are integrated. This dual approach reinforces key concepts, supports bilingual understanding and helps students make meaningful connections between mathematical thinking in both languages and cultural contexts.
Freeing the inner self
Students develop musical understanding, creativity and appreciation. The curriculum encourages students to perform, create and respond to music while deepening their knowledge of musical elements, history and diverse cultural traditions. Through active participation, students build technical skills, express themselves artistically and develop critical listening and analytical abilities. Music education also supports collaboration, discipline, and confidence.
Developing digital literacy
At our American international school, students acquire the essential digital skills and foundational knowledge of computing and information systems. Students develop a deep understanding of Vietnamâs heritage, historical development and geographical characteristics, alongside global historical and geographical knowledge.
